Genesis, the Dilmah Centre for a Sustainable Future, is a purpose‑led innovation hub, located at the Colombo site where Dilmah was first conceived, tasted, and packed by Founder Merrill J. Fernando. Formed around Dilmah’s founding philosophy of kindness to people and nature, Genesis is as a collaborative platform advancing sustainability, climate resilience, ethical entrepreneurship, nature‑based solutions and advocating change for the better amongst business, academia and policy makers. Genesis is an ecosystem that includes a Ceylon Tea & Cinnamon Experience - part of our belief in the importance of true value which demands respect for artisans through knowledge and appreciation of their produce. Genesis merges an emphasis on innovative and nature based solutions, biodiversity protection, research, agri-entrepreneurship, and dignity for communities through sustainable empowerment.
Genesis features an auditorium, breakout rooms, demonstration kitchen, and the immersive Tea & Cinnamon Experience as well as office space for lease to micro and small entrepreneurs whose mission aligns with the purpose of Genesis.
